FAME AND FORTUNE

The whole world went to stand still with Prince William married his new Princess Kate got married today. It was just funny how they set a time up for every little detail aobut the two marriage date. Time they said their vows, to the time they were escorted to the Buckingham Palace to kiss, and so on and so on.
I really wouldn't want that all in my life. I mean the perks are great, but people in your business 24/7, starting trouble with today's media, and people all around you all the time. You can't even take a dump with out no one around the outside of the door, but that's their way of life.
I rather have billions and not the fame. I know that it's hard to not have both, but if I could, I'll be a quiet wealthy person. If I would hit the lottery today, I would keep my job. Not saying that I wouldn't have nicer things, but I wouldn't go overboard. I don't like a whole lot of attention. I'm the laid back type. Hope the world doesn't mess this happy couple up like they always seem to do.W

PRAYER CHANGES THINGS

This economy is so rough right now with jobs going left and right that it makes my stomach turn everytime I turn on the news and here about plants closing or school districts having lay-offs. DallasISD, one the largest school districts in Texas, reported that they were going to have to cut over 15,000 jobs back in January. Our Governor Rick (Pretty Ricky is what they call him) Perry (Replubican), didn't want to accept the stimulus packet from President Obama when he was trying to help the state from having lay-offs. Well, Pretty Rick decided back in March to unlease some of the states Rainy-Day funds. Well, that was veto out by votes through a vote from Senates in the State. If you don't know, Texas might as well be a Rebel State. This state doesn't care about nothing but the wealthy.
Back in March, DallasISD offered teachers and principals to take an early retirement incentives up $10,000. The ideal was to try and push the older workers with 25+ years out the door and keep the younger ones at a cheaper price. Well a person that I know was told that they would not be back next school year. This person told me that they prayed, let go and let God. Well, DallasISD will open about 5 more schools next year and this person will be a Asst. Principal at one of the schools. This person went from a 5th year teacher salary to salary that's paying them 40k more than this year. Gods know what's best for you. The power of pray.

CELEBS ROLE MODELS

Rather we won't to believe it or not, the media has taken over the way things are done today and is the biggest influence to not jut kids but adults also. We always say that the media is different from the way we grew up and people that are our parents sais the same thing while we were growing up.
I'm a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child and not the child running all over the village. We as people get our up bringing from the four corners of our homes. That's where it all starts. When I see people in the spot light acting a fool on tv, it makes me wonder, "Are they trying to cause this attention so people can follow them or discuss them".
One Dallas Cowboy Player (not naming him by name, don't want to be sued), but he made the news about his pants sagging in a "High Class Mall". It was also said that he cursed out the mall security. He said that he didn't have his pants down sagging. This dude was a first round pick and has yet learned how to conduct himself correct in front of the media. Kids and adults look up to celebs because we won't to be in the same catergory or have the same status life that they are living. Celebs like Beyonce and Jay-Z knows how to stay out the way of the cameras acting a fool. Will and Jada are great examples. But these guys that are making millions, (meaning our young black celebs) need to have better class. Someone said there's people with all the money and have some good poeple around them, but still have "NO Class". What a statement. Opened my eyes alot.
Do you agree that they are role models?

GOT HATERS

If you don't have haters, then you're not a human. Everyone has a hater, even when they're deceased. Crazy, huh? People aren't always going to like you nor like what you're doing with your life, especially when you are doing great things with your life.
Haters love to know your every moves so that can keep up with you. I call that stalking. But you can also call it ENVY! One thing, that I've found out living this short 32 years of my life, you're not liked by everybody. God teaches us to love thy neighbor and enemies, but we don't live by that word. I admit, I'm a hater also. I wouldn't be human if I wasn't. I'm a hater when I feel that someone that doesn't or don't want to work, can go out to the club three or four days a week, go get a Coogi, Gucci, or Polo outfits, with hair done all the time and  kids nose is running and pamper full. Here I am, getting up early for work, making sure that my kids have everything that they need. So yes I'm a hater too. If you don't think you're one, you are LYING TO YOURSELF.
People we need to get better with this hater thing. The next person that I meet that's grown and not trying to make ends meet, honestly, I'm going to be that hater and try to find them a job so they can give Mr. Electric man a break and the daytime tv people a break too.

FEEL THE MUSIC

Hope that you all had a great weekend.
My topic hit me yesterday when I watched women over 60 and young girls as young as 5 praise dancing at church. Different music has different feelings and meanings to them. Like music by Gucci Mane or Lil Wyane makes the "gangsters" feel like they are hard and make them feel like The Incredible Hulk or Frank Lucas. Luther Vandross or Baby Face would/ still get couples in the mood for love making.
As I watched these women and kids move to the words of the music, it kept my attention and made me really listen and feel the words through dance. Every movement corresponded with all the words that were in those songs. "Words are powerful", someone told me that as a younster. If the song was about hate, I would've left there knowing what the song was talking about. Listen to some of the words, instead of the beat and you'll know what's being said in every lyric of a song. Some of us might need that movement to better explain these words that artist are saying today. I know if Souja Boy didn't do the steps to Superman, I would not known what he was saying nor talking about. But throw on some Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Too Short, UGK, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Mint Condition, Scarface, Boyz to Men, Al Green, Sam Cooke, Anthony Hamilton(who's underrated), etc.., I can go on and on, I already know what they're talking about.
Yes I listen to Gospel: Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee, Mary Mary, Hezekiah Walker and more others too. But listen to what these rappers are saying today's music and that's what our kids are listening to and half of it, you need a ebonics dictonary to know what they're rapping about: all the same, money (that half don't have), cars(some still riding with mama or borrowing her car), dope (half of them don't know what it really looks like or how it is made), houses (most still stay in the projects), and women (don't have those). BIG LOL. So tell your kids, this is for entertainment purposes. 85% of these artist don't have none of these things. Just listen to the radio one day rather it's in your car, desk, home or where ever and listen to the lyrics.

RESPECT YOUR ELDERS

People, today is TGIF. What a week this has been. Starting a blog and didn't have to jack up no kids this week. Lol.
This subject is very important to me, because a lot of kids growing up don't respect their elders. Rather you know it or not, these kids are a different breed. Something is in the water. I can't say that I was the biggest saint around adults, but there were certain things that i wouldn't just do in front of them. Not these kids. They have no shame. I see kids all day kissing like the preacher said, "You may now kiss your bride". I mean, they'll kiss in front of adults like we're not even standing there in their presence. Everyday for about three months, I saw the same two kids, come to the courtyard and sit there and put their tongues down each others throat and everyday, I broke them up.
No profanity is the other thing that I have a problem with everyday. Kids will just curse like you're not even around. MF this, B&%#$ that, Suck my ****, kiss my ***, B you can eat me, the list goes on and on. When I hear these things 8 out of 10 will apologize to you, but take 8 more steps and do it again. I'm 32 years old and I won't even use that language in front of either of my parents or grandmother. I can hardly use it in front of my older family members or co-workers.
But most of these kids, (inner city), that's all they hear at home. Parents will curse them out like they're enemies, cursing on the phone with their friends, or even just blasting music with curse words in them. I pulled up at the daycare and at 7:30am, I hear a mom get out of her car, bumping Too Short Freaky Tales. C'mon man!!! I don't ever try to tell people how to raise their kids, because that's a sensitive subject for some. But don't get made when your kid is using "grown folks" language, when you broadcast it everyday. Don't go to your son/daughter school, cursing the teacher or principals out and don't expect them to do the same. Remember, very young kids brains are like sponges, they soak up all of your rights and wrongs.
So let us all try to be better adults and watch the language we use in font of our kids, even when you're upset. Well until Monday! Have a great weekend!!! Happy Bday Queen V and LeeLee

TRUST

Family is who you learn to trust first in life. Family seems to hurt one another the most. Very ironic? Funny how life goes.
When a family members fight, it's usually over the word TRUST! I trusted him/her with my money, kids, wife/husband, and boy/girlfriend. We trust that our family members won't steal from us, take advantage of us, watch our backs, helps us when in need of help, be loyal, even take a bullet for one another. We trust that our kids will make the right decisions when we're not around. However, family is the hardest to trust.
I know a family that a few male members took advantage of their little cousins when they were younger and told them if they told it, they would get in trouble. The little girls believed and trusted that they would be in trouble. Nevertheless, had no clue that they were being lied to the whole time. Now those same little girls are women now, they have daughters of their own, and they watch any man that’s around them. All because of a family took advantage of their trust.
Everyone has a friend(s) that grew up with from grasshoppers. You did everything with that person(s) all through elementary, middle, and high school. Some even stayed together after high school. You knew each other’s every move and moods. Then one day, things blow up because of the word TRUST.
I've even seen people put their trust in pastors. (Don't get it twisted I'm very religious.) However, in my eyes, we put to much trust in the person and not the belief or his word that he's speaking. We as Christians, sometimes fall in love with our pastor and the time he/she does something wrong, we have a pal look on our faces. So TRUST in your GOD, not the deliver.
As I leave today, I hope that you take a hard look at your peers or family members that you trust and make sure that's who you really trust.
Feel free to post comments, rather bad or good, and even topics.
Thanks J. Anderson for this topic.

WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT

Sometimes we go through things and wonder why we're going through them. We never question why things are going good 98 % of the time, but as soon as something goes wrong, we tend to panic and wonder "Why me" 98% of the time. Today I heard a subject on the radio and it really hit me. Why are parents scared to talk to their children about SEX? I'm not the biggest Micheal Baisden fan, but that was a great subject; Why are we?
Well being a father of very young girls, I never want to see the day that are grown all up. First boys calling the house, then there's dating, prom, college boyfriends and on and on from that point. How am I going to react? Only God knows. Baisden said that he talked about sex to his daughter who's now 20 years old since she was 7. Well I have an eight year old and I'm not ready to have that discussion with her. But when is the time? I don't want to wait until they're 13 or 14 and hearing it from her peers. I want them to know and understand the real meaning of having sex and why and when they should do it. (Ehwwww) But as a father, I rather that I tell them, than some knuckle head boy trying to tell them things that he thinks will get him past first base and hitting a homerun. Or their friend girls saying what they did and how it felt.
Every month, I see at least a new pregnant girl walking around school. I'm talking freshman to seniors and a few have had babies in junior high. UNHEARD OF IN MY MIDDLE SCHOOL DAYS! But as I see these 14-18 year old kids that can barely spell words correctly having kids, it's upsetting to me. My mom had me at 17, her freshman year of college and had help from her parents. But there are a lot of parents that won't help and leave their kid out in the cold. 75% of low income adults have children out of wedllock. 80% have those second child before being married and so on and on. We as adults need to sit down and talk to children and not be scared of issues when it concerns our future doctors, lawyers, CEO's, and presidents.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME?
BE BLESSED UNTIL TOMORROW

CRY'S OF SINGLE WOMEN SONS

By being a child of a single parent, life has its difficulties. Being male in a single household full of women is harder. Being the oldest of my mom’s three kids and the oldest grandchild and the only grandson can have its advantages and disadvantages. First, being the oldest, you have the world handed to you and you really don’t realize it. Second, your siblings look up to you rather you know it or not. There wasn’t a lot that I would not do for my sisters. I took their whooping, made sure that they were safe at all times, watched them as they went down the street or crossed it, and watched them become intelligent college graduate women.
Males are taught that we are the biggest and strongest. As I grew older, I found out that it is millions of us still in the state of mind of the caveman days.  Women on my mom’s side of my family are dominating. Both if my grandfathers made sure that he raised me into being a man. I had other male figures in my life that we very important in my life. My pastors ( The late Dr. C.C. McNealy and present Dr. William McNealy), my uncles (Grady King, Kenneth Gray, the late Terry Gray), teachers (Mr. Pinkard Jr. High Math Teacher and Graham  Geometry Teacher), coaches (all the Jefferson’s from pop Warner, Freddie James and Bruce Chambers from “The Great” David W. Carter H.S. of Dallas, TX and a friend that I call my big brother.  These men helped my mom and grandmother with me go on the right path of life. I even thank the ones that I saw doing bad and influenced me not to follow their footsteps.
My father was very important in my life as well. He showed me ways of what and what not to do. I am not bashing him at all. My father was a man that loves his sons and daughters. However, the only thing that I wished he had done was raise us up to be better men, instead of other men taking his space.
To all the single moms out there with one or 5 sons, I know it’s hard trying to raise him/them to be men because you don’t know how to, so just look for a positive male figure that they have in their life and see if they can help. Never hurts to ask. So ask your son, what positive male he admires that is in their everyday life!

YOUR CALLING

Sometimes people will test your intelligence. Always want to ask questions that they "know" the answer too. Just say "Do you know the answer to your own question?" Some will tell you what you need to be doing with your life. So they always have sarcastic ways of trying to tell you what you should be doing with your life. Let them say what ever, then smile, pause, and say in a polite voice; "Where do I need to be?"
People have told me (older people) that my calling is to be a Preacher. My grandfather, the late Henry King wanted me to be a teacher. I fought that off for a very long time. I went to school to be an OBGYN, then when I got to school, I was talked into nursing. Well, when the professor told me that I had to find somewhere to stay and work 12 hour days, that wasn't the problem. The problem came when she told me that I couldn't ever play college football again. In my mind, she might of as well cursed me out. I thought about why and how I came to college for free. Now she wanted me to pay for school and throw away a scholarship. I told her in a polite voice, "Ma'am, do you know the answer to your question?" She looked at me and said "What do you mean. You need to go to Nursing School so you can make 65k your first year." I just told her that my mom and grandma didn't have money to pay for schooling and an apartment.
All the while I received my degree in Biology. I still can't believe that I'm in the education field after I fought back and forth with my grandfather about being a school teacher (that he wanted me to be) and me wanting to go to med school. Life is a trip and only God knows what we're supppose to be before we know who we are. "So what is your calling?"
